不定詞：to＋動詞の原形

主語の人称や数、あるいは時制(現在形，過去形など)によって形が変わらない。

§１．不定詞の名詞的用法

To read　this book is interesting.この本を読むことはおもしろい

My hobby is to grow flowers.　私の趣味は花を育てることです

I like to drive a car.　私は車を運転するのが好きです

＊注意すべき訳し方：

want to~:〜したい

try to~:〜しようとする

I want to go home.　私は家に帰りたい

He tried to open the door, but it did not open.　

彼はそのドアをあけようとしたが、開かなかった。

§２．不定詞の形容詞的用法：

その直前にある名詞・代名詞にかかる（形容詞と同じ働き）

→“名詞＋to＋動詞の原形”の順

基本的な訳し方：〜するための、〜すべき

I have a lot of things to do today.私は今日沢山のやるべきことがあります

It is time to go to school.　学校へ行く時間です

§３．不定詞の副詞的用法

�@                       目的を表す：〜するために

He came to see me this morning. 彼は今朝私に会いにきた

I got up early to catch the first bus. 私は始発バスに乗るために早起きした

�A                       原因、理由を表す

I’m glad to see you again.　私はあなたに再会できてうれしいです

I was surprised to hear the news. 私はその知らせを聞いて驚いた
